Children Looked After Team – 1.5 full time equivalent qualified social worker
Workers in this team have the ability to connect and make long term relationships with children, carers and families. They are get to know the children they work with and use a range of methods and offer relationship based support to them. Children that have workers in this team are all looked after on a long term basis, but some live with their parents.
This team oversees all aspects of a child’s care plan, and helps make sure that they are supported to reach their potential and achieve what they want to. The work here is varied, with lots of relationship based direct work with children, carers and families, some court work, and liaison with others to form a supportive team around the family. Where children live at home with their parents, workers need to be able to manage risk effectively.
Workers in this team have a manageable caseload. Currently workers in this team have between 16 – 20 children that they work with, which varies depending on what each child needs. They are helped by social care officers, supervising social workers, and business support. There is also a psychological service, Enfys, with a range of experts, clinic psychologists, OT, mental health workers etc which support children in this team.
